VIRGINIA BEACH: HAMPTON INN
Nancy, Barba and I checked in at the Hampton Inn Virginia Beach Oceanfront South at 10th Street and Atlantic Avenue. The rooms were great. They had a policy of "in case you forget anything" that was complimentary. Perfect not only if you forget but if you check in not expecting to stay over somewhere. All of the rooms face the ocean and you couldn't get a better view. The room had a microwave and refrigerator. Complimentary Continental breakfast, too.
The hotel has a restaurant called Tap House Bar and Grille where we tried to grab a quick lunch. The host seated us and ten minutes later nobody came to the table. It's not as if the restaurant was busy. I was tempted to get someone and then ask them for the check just to see what they would do. One of us had to go to the host stand located the farthest from the table in order to get someone. I also asked to speak with the manager, who didn't have an explanation for why nobody came over.
