Where I Stayed in Folsom

I enjoyed an Executive Suite at the Larkspur Landing in Folsom. The accommodations at this hotel are perfectly located in downtown Folsom and near a shopping center. Here is a photo of the extremely comfortable bed that I needed after not sleeping the night before and getting a few hours of shuteye on the plane.

More on Folsom

Nancy Pryor, Jayne Brenning and Mary Ann McAlea from tourism joined Barbara Coletta, Nancy Kozicki and me at this great restaurant called Bidwell Street Bistro. Chef Wendi Mentink co-owns with Richard Righton. I'm with Wendi pointing to this awesome fish dish. Roasted beet appetizer with goat cheese had a variety of beets. Then there is the signature Muscovy Duck Confit. Lots of other goodies that we talked about on my radio show. Photos by Nancy Kozicki

Folsom Prison

Everyone seems to want to visit the Folsom Prison Museum at the Folsom Prison. Yup. There's a connection with Johnny Cash and you can get photos, etc. at the museum as well as other stuff. I would put this tourist attraction on my "I really, really have nothing to do, here" list.

Kikkoman Soy Sauce

Kikkoman, the soy sauce company is also located in Folsom due to the water. I have a photo of the outside and one of the after-before. Soy sauce on left and the leftovers of soy and wheat combo after liquid has been removed. Then there is a video of Kim giving basic information about the soy and wheat used prior to going on the tour.

Old Folsom

Here are some photos of the downtown area of Old Folsom. Great to hone in them and check it out. Then I'm rocking outside the Lake Forest Cafe where I had lox for breakfast. Menu also has blintzes, latkes, and kosher Salami. Who nu?

Sake To Me in Folsom

Gekkeikan Sake chose Folsom for the water. Great sake. Rice is also domestic. I did a sake tasting. Here are some of the products. The left side has the domestic while the right, the imported. I loved the domestic! Koi pond outside. I'll have someone on the radio to talk about it soon.
