JETBLUEING TO ROCHESTER

It was once again time to Jetblue with Rochester as the starting point. The focus of this trip was: to cover the 90th anniversary of the 19th amendment with a celebration at the Susan B. Anthony Park; see what Rochester had to offer in the way of being a travel destination; and explore the Erie Canal from Rochester to Syracuse.

I was first taken to two suburbs of Rochester that ran along the Erie Canal, Pittsford and Fairport. Being that it was the morning a hearty breakfast was needed as the day would be a long one. I ate a restaurant called Village Coal Tower.

It so happened that the Sam Patch canal boat was docked but not going out. That was okay as there would wind up being two rides later on.

Fairport is known to be a hidden jewel. I could definitely understand. It's a great little village with lots of stores, restaurants and entertainment along the canal area. There were a lot of boats docked including the Ladyhawke owned by Lynne and Dick Davenport who were taking there boat along the canal and down along the east coast. Facilities here included a hook up for water and electricity and a building with restrooms and showers.

It was interesting to see the nearby bridge which lifts rather than having two parts rise.

Enough walking, it's lunchtime. I dined on Shepard's Pie at Mulconry's Irish Pub where we met Damien Mulconry, the owner. Oh yeah, Esther and Eunice were with me.
